Timothy J. Elliott – Bio & Mission Statement

Born and raised in Rochester, New York – the land of Eastman Kodak - Tim identifies with scenes both real and imagined, at home creating ranges of visual communication to create mood, atmosphere and style. He began drawing as a child and, discovering a passion at the New York State Fair, he began private instruction to learn classical styles and techniques at the Rochester Museum of Art. He continued the high school level, winning national awards, including the New York State Art Teacher’s Scholarship.

Taking a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, Tim went on to pursue Commercial Art and Advertising Design, earning awards at the Society of Illustrators in New York City. Graduating with honors, he went on to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked for advertising agencies and production companies. Although Tim maintained his commercial illustration clientele, he quickly began to branch out on his own, pursuing fine art, generating one-of-a-kind murals and trompe l’oeil for private homes and businesses. He lived and worked in Los Angeles, and then later moved to Florida, to paint for a well-established art studio in that region before building his own company.

Elliott creates the artwork as the customer wants, ranging from free-reign expression to specific instruction on subject matter. Tim has a strong sense of design from his studies in the art field as well as experience within the film and video industry. He works with each individual or company to make sure the final product is their fully realized scene of choice.

Tim has now returned to Chicago to live and work, traveling on commission upon request and arrangement. “The more I create, the more I enjoy this fascinating process that synthesizes my vision with the customer’s needs. From somewhere, somehow, I developed this desire to please people through my art and make a difference in their lives. And the rest has been just plain, hard, honest work.”
